Arabic Repertoire (from 2003)
In 2003, Gabriel started working on his Arabic repertoire.
He collaborated with the Gibran Khalil Gibran committee and asked the composer Elie Choueiry to compose the music for excerpts from: Lakom lobnanookom wali lobnani which means “You have your Lebanon and I have mine” and Bel amsi wal yawm wa ghadan “Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow”.
Gabriel composed the music for a poem called Ayna anti (Where are you) and Joseph Khalife for another one Daani ya la'imi (Leave me Oh! Blamer). All these lyrics were chosen from the literature of Gibran Khalil Gibran.
Fadi Al Rahi wrote to Gabriel 3 poems: Nadahtik (I called you), Qossit hob (Love story), the music provided by Joseph Khalife, and Chou aam bissir (What's going on), by Gabriel Abdel Nour.
Gabriel also composed the music for two other poems Ahbabtoo (I fell in love) and oter nissan (The perfume of April) whose lyrics were written by Georges Chaccour and Elias Abi Raad.
